1:Ancient rock characters are inscribed on the big rock of Shishiiwa Observatory 2:The pilot light for “Flame of Peace” of Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park is the “Fire that never dies
A lot of petrographs (ancient rock characters) have been discovered in the groups of big rocks of Shishiiwa Observatory. Petrographs are the letters and patterns carved in rocks in the prehistoric age. They might be the evidences that an advanced civilization existed in ancient times.   The holy fire has been kept kindling up to the present in Reikado Hall since Kobo Daishi started it to perform his ascetic training.
The pilot light of the “Flame of Peace” of Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park was also lit at this sacred site. In addition, a legend goes that drinking hot water boiled using this holy fire is the passport to happiness.

They say the holy fire was also used as the pilot light for the blast furnace of Yahata Ironworks started operation in 1901.
3:There is a shrine which enshrines the same deities as those of Itsukushimajinja Shrine 4:There is a rock on which Kobo Daishi engraved characters
At Miyamajinja Shrine located near the summit of Misen, three red branch shrine halls are lined up inside the precincts to enshrine three deities, i.e., “Ichikishima-himenomikoto,” “Tagori-himenomikoto,”and “Tagitsu-himenomikoto,” in the same manner as the main shrine of Itsukushima.

In former days, Sankido Hall was located at the site of present Miyamajinja Shrine, but in Meiji Period replaced with Miyamajinja Shrine.
  A gigantic rock located on the south side down below Misenhondo Hall. Sanskrit characters are engraved with inscription of kanji 「三世諸仏天照大神宮八幡三所三千七百余神...」 They say these are Kobo Daishi's handwriting.
It is one of the Misen's seven wonders.

5:Maybe your skin starts to itch if passing near a certain rock
Just above Dainichido Hall, there is a great rock overhanging on a side of narrow lane scarcely allowing a single person to pass through. It is said that an imprudent person catches a skin disease when he/she passes the rock.

By contrast, if the scabies patient is cured when he/she touches the rock because it takes his/her disease off.
